Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 2026. Last updated: June 2026.
For general SIM guidance, start with our SIM information Pakistan guide.
At CheckSimsOwnership.com.pk (“we,” “us,” or “our”), your privacy is something we take seriously — not as a legal checkbox, but as a core part of our mission. This website teaches people how to check their sim owner details, read their sim information, and protect their sim ownership using only official, legal channels. It would make no sense for us to lecture about data safety while quietly collecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains, in plain language, what we do and do not collect, how any information is used, and the rights and choices you have.
By using this website, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the site.
See our Disclaimer for important limitations.
The Short Version
If you only read one paragraph, read this: we do not ask for, want, or store your CNIC number. We do not operate a SIM database, we do not look up numbers, and we do not sell personal data to anyone. Like almost every website, we collect basic technical information automatically (such as anonymized analytics) and we use cookies, including for advertising. Everything below simply explains that in detail.
Who We Are
CheckSimsOwnership.com.pk is an independent educational website based in and focused on Pakistan. We are not affiliated with the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), NADRA, the FIA, or any mobile network operator. We publish guides about safe and legal SIM verification. We are the data controller responsible for this website.
Scope of This Policy
This policy applies to information collected through this website. It does not apply to any third-party website we link to, nor to the official services we describe — such as cnic.sims.pk, the 668 SMS service, or your mobile operator’s systems. When you use those official channels, their own privacy terms and the PTA’s data handling rules apply, not ours.
Information We Do Not Collect
Because of the sensitive nature of our subject, we want to be unusually clear about what we deliberately avoid collecting:
- We do not collect, request, or store your CNIC number.
- We do not collect your full mobile number for any lookup, because we do not perform lookups.
- We do not collect biometric data, identity documents, or banking information.
- We do not maintain a database of SIM owner details, and we have no access to any such database.
Any tool or field on this site that helps you understand the correct verification path is designed to guide you to an official PTA channel — it does not transmit or save sensitive identifiers to us.
Information We Do Collect
Information you give us voluntarily
If you contact us by email or through a contact form, we receive the information you choose to provide — typically your name, your email address, and the content of your message. We use this only to respond to you. We ask that you never include your CNIC, passwords, or OTP codes in these messages.
To reduce CNIC and SIM misuse risk, follow our SIM fraud prevention guide.
Information collected automatically
Like virtually all websites, our servers and analytics tools automatically record certain non-identifying technical data when you visit, which may include:
- Your browser type and version, and your device and operating system.
- Your approximate location at the country or city level (derived from your IP address, not precise GPS).
- The pages you view, the time and date of your visit, and how you arrived at the site.
- General usage patterns that help us understand which guides are most helpful.
This data is aggregated and statistical in nature and is not used to personally identify you.
The On-Site Lookup Tool
Some of our pages include a simple tool that helps you decide which official channel fits your need. We want to be transparent about how it behaves: it is designed to direct you to the correct PTA method — cnic.sims.pk, 668, or 667 — rather than to perform a real lookup itself. We do not store the inputs you type into such a tool as part of a personal profile, and we never use them to build a SIM database. If at any point a tool’s behavior changes, we will update this policy to reflect it.
How We Use Information
We use the limited information we collect for legitimate, narrow purposes:
- To operate, maintain, and improve the website and its content.
- To respond to your questions, feedback, and correction requests.
- To understand which guides readers find useful, so we can write better ones.
- To keep the site secure and prevent abuse, spam, and fraud.
- To display advertising that helps keep our content free.
- To comply with applicable law where required.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device that help websites function and remember preferences. We use a limited number of cookies and similar technologies, which generally fall into these categories:
Essential cookies
These are necessary for the site to work properly — for example, to remember basic display preferences or to keep the site secure. They cannot be switched off in our systems.
Analytics cookies
We may use analytics services such as Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the site — which pages are popular and where people may get stuck. This information is statistical and is not used to identify you personally.
Advertising cookies
To keep our guides free, we may display advertisements served by third parties, including Google AdSense. These partners may use cookies to show ads that are more relevant to you.
Advertising and Third-Party Vendors
We may participate in advertising programs operated by third parties such as Google. Please note the following standard disclosures:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to our site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.
- Some third-party advertisers may place cookies independently; we do not control these cookies, and their use is governed by the advertisers’ own privacy policies.
Analytics Providers
Where we use analytics tools, those providers process data on our behalf according to their own privacy and data-processing terms. We configure analytics to respect reasonable privacy standards and, where available, to anonymize identifiers such as IP addresses.
Links to Other Websites
Our guides frequently link to official resources such as cnic.sims.pk, pta.gov.pk, and operator websites, as well as to other helpful pages. Once you click a link and leave our site, this Privacy Policy no longer applies. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of third-party sites, and we encourage you to review their policies. We link to official sources precisely because they are trustworthy, but you should still verify you are on the genuine domain before entering any personal details.
How We Share Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share limited information only in these situations:
- Service providers: with trusted vendors who help us run the site (such as hosting and analytics), who are bound to use it only for that purpose.
- Legal requirements: where we are legally obligated to disclose information in response to a valid request from a competent authority under Pakistani law.
- Protection of rights: where necessary to investigate, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues, or to protect the safety of users.
Data Retention
We keep personal information only for as long as it serves the purpose for which it was collected. Email correspondence is retained for a reasonable period to maintain a record of your query and our response, after which it may be deleted. Aggregated analytics data may be retained longer because it does not identify individuals.
Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited information we hold against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access — including secure hosting and encrypted connections (HTTPS). However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. This is one more reason we deliberately avoid collecting sensitive identifiers like your CNIC in the first place.
Children’s Privacy
This website is intended for a general adult audience and for users old enough to manage their own SIM connections. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Your Rights and Choices
You have meaningful control over your information:
- Access and correction: you can ask what personal information we hold about you (typically only past email correspondence) and request that we correct it.
- Deletion: you can ask us to delete the personal information you have sent us, subject to any legal retention obligations.
- Cookie control: you can manage or block cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work as well if you do.
- Advertising choices: you can opt out of personalized ads using the links provided in the Advertising section above.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details on our Contact Us page.
International Visitors
Our site is hosted and operated with a Pakistani audience in mind, but it can be accessed worldwide, including by overseas Pakistanis. If you access the site from outside Pakistan, you understand that any limited information collected may be processed in Pakistan or wherever our service providers operate.
Compliance with Pakistani Law
We operate in line with applicable Pakistani law, including the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016, which governs data protection and electronic conduct in Pakistan, and we monitor developments in Pakistan’s evolving personal data protection framework. Our deliberate decision not to collect sensitive identifiers reflects both our values and our respect for these legal protections. We do not, and will not, build or trade in any unauthorized database of SIM owner details.
Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” signal. Because there is no industry-wide standard for how to respond to these signals, we currently do not alter our behavior in response to them, but we keep our data collection minimal regardless.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or the law. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Your continued use of the website after any change indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
Contact Us About Privacy
If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or your personal information, please reach us through our Contact Us page. We will respond as promptly as we reasonably can. Protecting your privacy is part of the same promise we make on every guide: check your sim owner details the safe, official, legal way — and never hand your identity to anyone who has no right to it.
